After You Sleep is a self-initiated short film inspired by my own experience of early motherhood – the desperate wanting of your baby to sleep, only to find yourself wide awake when they finally do.

Told through cinematic imagery and poetic narration, the film captures the solitude, tenderness and restlessness of those hours when the house is finally still, but rest never comes.

The film was created using generative AI across still and moving image, exploring how consistent characters, environments and visual language can be maintained across a narrative to create a cohesive cinematic world.
